Maths Winners

Congratulations to our teams from Millbank Academy and Churchill Gardens Academy who came first and second respectively in their group in the first heat of the Mayor’s maths challenge ‘Count on Us’ held at City Hall last Friday. Great effort from students and staff.

Sports Win

Well done to our Basketball champions. Our boys in the U14 London Greenhouse Pioneers national league squad have qualified for the Final Fours competition while our U18s team are also in the Final Fours.

Top 10%

Congratulations to Pimlico Academy which has received national recognition for the value it adds to students’ achievements at GCSE.

SSAT, the Schools, Students and Teachers Network, recently undertook its annual in-depth analysis of Department for Education data on state-funded schools in England and identified Pimlico Academy’s success.

The school has won an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award, being in the top 10% of schools for progress made by pupils between their key stage 2 and their GCSE results.

The school will receive the award at a special ceremony at Holland Park School on 12 May.

Book Day

Our schools celebrated World Book Day in style last week with teachers dressing up as literary characters and our children reading lots of books. A great step forward in our support for our students’ passion for books.

Champion Academy

Famous Soldier

Thrilled and honoured to be welcoming Johnson Beharry VC to Pimlico today for an assembly as part of Raising Aspirations Week. Johnson Beharry VC, who served with the Princess of Wales’ s Royal Regiment, won his VC in Iraq in 2004.

Book Success

Walker Books has chosen Pimlico Academy to work with on an anthology as part of the First Story programme which links students with published authors. The students will also work with the publisher’s top designers on the book.
