Lynne Downey 

Lynne is the Vice Principal, Digital Education & Professional Services at the University College of Estate Management (UCEM). Lynne brings knowledge and expertise in delivering further and higher education apprenticeships and this enables her to provide a different perspective of education to Future Academies Watford. She has experience as a leader of an educational institution that must comply with Ofsted and other government compliance organisations. Her background and subject expertise is in digital learning and technology with over 17 years’ experience in online learning, mainly in the HE and commercial sectors. Lynne has degrees in Information Technology and Psychology as well as an MA.  In her two years in the role of a parent governor at Francis Combe Academy she has been the Pupil Premium Link governor and have attended several training courses to support her development in the role to best support the school.

Dawn Fortune 

Dawn is a local resident with two children at Future Academies Watford. She is a residential support worker working with young people. Dawn has previous experience of being a school governor. She looks forward to working with the local governing body in a constructive and collaborative way to ensure that Future Academies Watford provides the very best education and support to all children who attend.

Nick Minkoff, Chair of Governors 

Nick is a Partner in the Real Estate department of Mishcon de Reya, with over 25 years' experience specialising in development projects and the purchase and sale of high value investment properties. He is skilled in both leading and being part of a team. Nick brings excellent analytical and research skills with real estate sector knowledge and legal knowledge. Nick uses his knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with governors, the senior leadership team and the Trust Board to deliver the very best education and opportunities for the children of Future Academies Watford.

Paul Smith 

Mr. Paul Smith is the CEO of Future Academies and a National Leader of Education (NLE). He is greatly experienced in education, and has served as head teacher of several schools as well as working as an Ofsted inspector and as a Regional Schools Commissioner.

Sarah Wilson
 

Sarah was previously a parent governor at FA Watford and is now a Trust Appointed governor. Sarah has been employed as Principal Lawyer - Litigation and Social Care at the London Borough of Harrow since 2010 where she is a member of the senor leadership team.  Since being a governor at Francis Combe Academy (now Future Academies Watford), Sarah has been the link governor for SEND, looked after children and Pupil Premium.  Sarah strongly believes in comprehensive education and giving all children the opportunity to excel, whatever their background or previous academic history.  Being a part of Future Academies Trust brings huge opportunities to allow FA Watford to excel, whilst still keeping its unique place in the local community.
